Co-Working or Co-Habitat?
Inspired by the timeless beauty of desert tents, the HABITAT 2.0 Co-Working Project reimagines the modern workspace as a place of connection, comfort, and community. Beneath a vast, sculptural canopy, the design creates a shaded oasis that welcomes users with warmth and openness.
Set along the breathtaking waterfront of Jubail City, this site is part of an ambitious new masterplan to transform the area into a dynamic hub for creativity and collaboration. Conceived as a living habitat, the co-working space blends sleek transparency with lush greenery, framing stunning water views while maintaining a deep respect for the natural environment.
The rectangular site unfolds into two distinct yet harmonious zones:
•A bright, welcoming front plaza, inviting the public into a lively social atmosphere.
•A tranquil rear esplanade, designed for quiet reflection and connection with nature.
A refined glass structure anchors the design, equipped with retractable blinds to adapt effortlessly to the desert’s changing light. The landscape design draws on regional traditions—integrating native, drought-resistant plants in circular ground depressions that help preserve moisture and reduce evaporation.
At the heart of the building, a stepped ramp connects the two levels—encouraging movement, interaction, and spontaneous collaboration. The ground floor houses a welcoming reception, vibrant F&B offerings, relaxing lounges, and adaptable meeting rooms. Above, the first floor offers an inspiring environment for focused work and creative productivity.
Every architectural gesture reinforces connection—between people, nature, and the broader urban fabric. The design seamlessly aligns the main drop-off point with the pedestrian entrance, ensuring a cohesive flow that echoes the masterplan’s vision for integrated community spaces.
Bold yet serene, minimalist yet alive, HABITAT 2.0 celebrates the fusion of biophilic design and human connection—ushering in a new era of co-working that feels less like an office and more like a home for ideas.
