CANOPY AREA: 1000 sqm
BEACH CLUB: 600 sqm
The design for the Arabian Beach Club presents a challenge: it must be stable yet not permanent. According to the law, it is not allowed to build anything with foundations or that is permanent within the beach area.
In this case, the logistics strategy takes precedence over the design. The fundamental component of the entire system is a “tree” made up of a pylon and three hexagonal canopies. This structure expands by interlocking and covers an area of approximately 1000 square meters. We opted for the hexagon because, among all geometric shapes, it is the most efficient. It has the largest area in relation to its perimeter and does not result in wasted space.
After the support pylons are installed, the other structures (canopy, services, and deck) are installed on top of them. This allows the entire beach club complex to be set up and taken down, ensuring its temporary presence on the beach. Even the swimming pool, the blocks for the kitchen, restrooms, and even the FlowRider are temporary structures and easy to remove.
